Quick one before standup: I ran the inbox through the 4G profile on the test phone last night, and the cold load is slower than the numbers we quoted in the planning doc.

Landing on the inbox pulls down the full content of every visible conversation, 38 of them on the test device, for a screen where the median user opens two. Most of that is message bodies and attachment metadata nobody looks at.

I would like to load conversations when someone shows intent instead: hover, focus or touch on a row. Priya has a small hook for it already, and it keeps the list itself just as fast.

The second half is how much we load per conversation. Right now it is the whole thread. If we stop at the newest message and load the history once the conversation is actually open, the numbers in the sheet drop by about two thirds. That is the part I would like to pair on.
